How many images do you want?

How many images do you want from a Brand Photography shoot?

Or come to that how many do you need??

Does receiving too many photos from your photographer give you overwhelm? Or do you want as many as you can get your hands on to give you the largest number of options as possible?

OK, so that’s probably far too many questions for a blog post, but I find some photographers pricing models far too confusing so rather than get involved with sending galleries and getting clients to choose a set number and then pay extra if they want any more, I prefer to deliver as many images as pass my quality control.

Yes, that’s right, you read that right, at Steve Edwards Photography there’s NO IMAGE LIMIT..!!

Case in point, I recently had two separate shoots with Mel Roberts of Evol Consultancy. She wanted one shoot at her home with multiple outfits and scenarios plus another one at various locations around Nottingham.

Mel had her friend, Charlotte, on hand to help with the outfit choices, ensuring that nothing was out of place during the shoot and to act as an extra in some of the shots. It’s always handy to have an extra pair of hands and eyes on a shoot to help to make sure everything stays where it should and of course, any extra input is also useful.

So, how many images did Mel receive?

I supplied 170 from the first shoot, we spent 3 hours together and Mel changed outfits numerous times, it was handy she was at home so that was easily achieved.

The second shoot garnered 92 images, this was a 2-hour shoot spent entirely on location, Mel changed outfits a few times, even doing one in an alleyway!

Mel wasn’t that keen to have her photo taken, but she knew that professional images would help her for her website and her social media channels so show her clients and potential clients who she is. Although she was a little nervous and uncomfortable once we started, I felt she relaxed a little and it came across in the images. Hopefully, her confidence level has now reached a level so that she’s not bothered when someone whips out a camera at an event and asked her to say “cheese”!!

But don’t just take my word for it, here’s what Mel said after her shoot when she posted a review for me on Google –

“I’ve had two separate photo shoots with Steve, and I can’t rate highly enough. He’s been absolutely fantastic. I really don’t enjoy photos of me, and he’s been so patient and accommodating, and that’s really helped my confidence. Give him a go, you won’t be disappointed.”

Oh, and the cost? Well that was a little over £2 per image. The images were delivered in web-friendly, 72dpi, and print ready, 300dpi, formats. The web friendly versions are sized ready for her website developer to drop right in so no extra work or sizing is needed. Then, just in case, she feels the need, as is asked for copies suitable for a magazine or she wants to add images to a banner or even her business cards, then she’s already covered.

Are you thinking about updating your website to show the most important part of your business? Well, that’s you of course, and I can help you impress your clients and show them who you are. Get in touch and see how I can help.

I used a Nikon D810 camera with a 24-70mm F2.8 lens along with Neewer and Godox flashes with Pixapro and Gary Fong modifiers.
